Aaron Katz - President and CEO
Aaron Katz brings over 20 years of diverse professional experience to his role as President and CEO of Modus Hotels, an owner, operator and development company headquartered in Washington DC. With a JD-MBA degree from Georgetown University, Katz's experience runs the gamut from tax accounting at Arthur Andersen, to advising Fortune 500 companies on mergers and acquisitions as a strategy consultant. His career in hospitality began while leading brand management and strategy as Vice President at Choice Hotels, the world's second largest franchise company. As president and CEO at Modus Hotels, he has architectured a cohesive brand strategy and acquired and/or developed seven hotels since he took the reins in 2007.
One of Katz's top priorities as CEO is to cultivate strong executive leaders and a company that fosters learning and firsthand competitive research. When he is not at the office, he is swimming, biking, or logging miles on the C&O Canal Towpath in preparation for one of the six triathlons he competes in each year.

Adam Gollance - Chief Financial Officer
Adam Gollance brings a wealth of finance experience in the hospitality sector to Modus Hotels, where he serves as chief financial officer, overseeing eleven hotels and a variety of other real estate holdings. Starting as an intern at Marriott International, Gollance excelled and was promoted to a variety of leadership positions within Marriott's finance department, eventually becoming Vice President of International Finance. When Modus approached Gollance about an open CFO position in 2010, he was intrigued by the smaller, entrepreneurial nature of the business, and enticed by the prospect of logging fewer miles overseas.
Under his leadership, Modus has not only stabilized financially, but has grown to acquire four new hotels. A native New Yorker, Gollance began his career in commercial real estate at Cushman & Wakefield after earning an BA from the University of Michigan. Soon thereafter, Gollance headed to the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned his MBA. In his spare time, Gollance does enjoy travelling for pleasure with his wife and children. His number one travel tip is to "rent a car, walk the town and live as close to the locals as you can."

Janne Clare - Executive Vice President
A seasoned hospitality professional, Janne Clare brings a wealth of experience to Modus Hotels in her role as Executive Vice President where she oversees all aspects of hotel operations including marketing, branding and sales, and revenue management. Janne spent 10 years at Viceroy Hotel Group as Vice President of Operations and in 2012,had a strong desire for an entrepreneurial company culture and was looking to relocate back East. Janne loves the unique aspects of Modus, its entrepreneurial spirit, and the close working relationship she has with the owners. A typical day includes advising general managers on business objectives, developing branding and marketing initiatives, financial and market analysis, collaborating on design and development and recruiting new leaders, all of which she does with tremendous passion and energy.
She believes a sense of humor is an absolute necessity for leaders in today's fast-paced world. When she isn't working, you can find Janne enjoying her love of travel, practicing yoga or breaking a sweat at Soul Cycle. A new homeowner in Washington DC's Shaw, she spends time exploring restaurants, shops and all that make her new neighborhood so special.
Assaf Gal - Senior Corporate Director: Revenue Management, IT and Digital Marketing
With more than 18 years of experience in the hotel industry, Assaf Gal brings his extensive skills in revenue management to Modus Hotels as Corporate Director of Revenue Management. Assaf's responsibilities include providing direction to the revenue management team to drive results, work with the hotel leadership teams to instill the revenue management culture and ensure the execution of the brand's strategic revenue plan. Assaf earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Washington State University and a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from the International College of Hospitality Administration in Brig, Switzerland. In his free time, Assaf enjoys spending time on the golf course playing a round or two with friends and colleagues.

Dana Aldis - Sr. Director: People and Culture
Dana Aldis is focused on identifying, growing, and retaining the most valuable asset at Modus- its people. She seeks to build upon the Modus culture by creating new learning opportunities, developing forums for communication and best practice sharing, and fostering a spirited environment where colleagues can find original ways to make a difference.
Prior to joining Modus, Dana led various training, development, and communications teams at LivingSocial and Corporate Executive Board (CEB). She earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and an M.S. in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University.
Josh Runes - Digital Marketing Manager
With over 6 years of experience in hospitality marketing, Josh Runes brings a great deal of digital marketing knowledge to the Modus team. He joined Modus in June 2015 after working at a digital agency for the previous 4 years. As Digital Marketing Manager, Josh is responsible for the Modus Hotels' websites as well as all of the online marketing efforts. Josh is educating both the brand and hotel teams about digital marketing and working to align offline and online strategies. He graduated from The University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.
Josh was immediately drawn to the entrepreneurial spirit of Modus, as well as the Core Values and company culture. "I wasn't looking for a job or to fill an open position, I was looking for a company that would help me grow both professionally and as a leader." The Core Value that sticks with Josh is "Be Curious". "One of the best parts of my job is how much I learn on a daily basis.
