The River Inn & Dish + Drinks, Washington, DC - Apply Here

We want you to look after this hotel as if it were your home. You'll make sure broken things get fixed, and more importantly you'll plan a program to make sure they don't break in the first place. From the little every day details - maintenance of our guestrooms, public space, and the back of the house - to the big capital improvements that help our hotels maintain their fresh appeal, you'll schedule, direct, and follow up on all of the critical items that make the difference. When things go south, you'll be the first phone call - day or night. You'll make sure we have the right tools and equipment and keep them organized; that chemicals and hazardous materials are used and stored properly, and that all required reporting is done accurately. You'll make sure work is performed safely and efficiently.

We want you to lead the charge in getting the word out about this great hotel. You'll partner with the GM and Revenue Manager in determining the strategic direction, management, and top-line revenues of the hotel. You'll have a voice in creating a clear vision for the hotel's sales strategy  and using your understanding of the market you'll develop the team, structure, and systems that will drive us to reach our financial goals.  Can you think strategically? Develop a budget? Provide clear activity and financial reporting? Participate in forecasting? Lead and develop your colleagues? Be ready to do all of that.

What DON'T we want you to do? You're a night auditor, so you are the heart, mind, and soul of the hotel from 11pm - 7am. Your most important task will be to perform the close of day functions for hotel. You'll account for the hotel's daily activity by organizing and verifying information. If you see something that doesn't make sense, you'll correct it. You'll post information to accounts and run/distribute daily reports. The phone will ring and you'll be expected to answer it in full hospitality mode: you may be asked to make a reservation, take care of a guest request, or, at times, handle an emergency situation. You are the go-to.
